July 28th , 2009 My very first picture book is out TODAY!! It's called 'Do NOT Build a Frankenstein!' Publishers Weekly gave it a starred review! They write: "Numberman is a nimble, funny writer" and "after a terrific debut as an illustrator this spring with the graphic novel–style 'Joey Fly, Private Eye', Numberman demonstrates his versatility and proves that he can deliver as both author and artist." Kirkus Review writes: "There's no denying the appeal of a giant green playmate with rivets in his neck." In stores NOW!!
July 20th , 2009 I just returned from my 47th state, Hawaii, where I did a couple drawing events for kids at some great libraries, including the McCully-Moiliili Public Library! Oh, and I ate Pineapple ice cream at the Dole Pineapple Plantation, visited Pearl Harbor, hiked in a rain forest, hiked in a crater, and ended up in a hospital in Arizona with a foot infection!
June 5th , 2009 I spoke at the amazing HDWC Comic Book Project, a program that helps kids learn through making comic books. This was an award ceremony for the students of PS 161, who won the city-wide competition. See NY1 cover it here, and more including me talkin' about here!

March 30th, 2009 'Joey's Fly, Private Eye in Creepy Crawly Crime' is gettin' good reviews "all over the places", as a former piano teacher of mine used to say. Kirkus Reviews says "An auspicious series kick-off." Booklist raves "Kids will get caught in the web of this classic mystery cleverly disguised as a simple bug’s tale." And a starred review from Publishers Weekly! "In this first installment of the Joey Fly, Private Eye series, Aaron Reynolds (Buffalo Wings) and Neil Numberman, who makes a wowser of a debut, marry the film noir spoof to the graphic novel, and the result has the sweet smell of success written all over it."

September 19th, 2008 The library market book club rights to my first book, Joey Fly and the Creepy Crawly Crime (written by Aaron Reynolds, release date April 14th, 2009), have just been purchased by the Junior Library Guild, an organization that distributes select titles directly to libraries! I'm told that's a good thing...
July 7th , 2008 Oh, gee, sorry I haven't written anything here for awhile. I've just been busy making cartoons with a group at JWT in an effort to woo the Microsoft people into giving them millions. I, of course, will see none of that. Boring.
May 22nd , 2008 The new Rabid Rabbits are out! The theme this time around was The Beatle's White Album. Each contributor was to make a two page comic based on a track from the record. I did "Honey Pie", one of my faaaaaaaaavorites!

July 27th, 2007 It's kind of official: Greenwillow Books, an imprint of HarperCollins, will be publishing my first picture book (as opposed to the two graphic novels I'm working on) tentatively titled "Do NOT Build a Frankenstein!" Expect it to come out near Halloween 2009. 2009?! Also, on this SAME DAY, I broke my foot like a moron. Brace yerself, these images are not for the faint of heart!
June 22nd, 2007 While I will not be able to make it to MoCCA this year, there will be copies of my new book, 21 Citizens, a compilation of my more recent comics, on sale at the Rabid Rabbit table for a mere 4 bucks. Too much? Shove it!

March 25, 2007 My new website is launched! I needed to get this done before I left for Switzerland for the Fumetto Comics Festival on the 28th. Actually, I don't have my passport yet, so I still don't know if it's for sure... but stay tuned and find out.
Also, I know there are plenty of glitches here. Gimme a break, it's my first non-Flash website. I'll fix 'em I promise! I'm just in a rush right now! Leave me alone!

February 28, 2007 Just finished sketches for my first book, a ninety page graphic novel about a fly detective called "Joey Fly, Private Eye", written by Aaron Reynolds. It was quite the task, and that's why I've been so quiet latey...
December 8, 2006 I've been blogged, rather favorably too. Heidi MacDonald, o'er at Publisher's Weekly, came to R. Sikoryak's Carousel last night where I read some of my comics. This is what she had to say.
November 17, 2006 Radar asked my friend Scott and I to visit the Scientology Headquarters in New York City for an undercover report. It was a very bizarre experience to say the least. He wrote it, I did the cartoons.
October 22, 2006 Did a New York Times Book Review illustration for a book called "The Echo Maker" by Richard Powers and what may have been Steven Heller's last week there... We're all doomed!
September 16, 2006 Hey everyone! Long time, eh? This weekend grab yourself a copy of the New York Times Book Review and check out my piece. It's for the review of that lovable author Haruki Murakami's latest cluster of short stories called "Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman."
May 10, 2006 Graduated! And there we have it. I've graduated from the School of Visual Arts with a Masters in Fine Art... that should get me somewhere, right? Right?
March 17, 2006 I got a book deal... no make that two book deals! Henry Holt and Company Books for Young Readers asked me to illustrate their new graphic novel series called "Joey Fly, Private Eye."
